This is a Leave-in Conditioner5
The main purpose of this review is to counteract the low rating from the previous person: Potion 9 is NOT “hair gel”, it is a leave-in conditioner. It conditions thoroughly, moisturizes, makes hair manageable and protects color (if you dye your hair). And unlike gel, Potion 9 won’t damage hair but nourish it.

This is the best product of its kind in the market.

Not what it used to be3
They changed the packaging as well as i think what is inside. I used to like this when I tried it in the old toothpaste type containers. It seems to dry much more like hair gel or dep instead of the more conditioner like hold from before. Not sure if this is in my head or the “potions” ingredients changed????

Great hair product5
Great leave-in hair conditioner, the best out there that I have found. It’s very difficult to find now in stores like Walgreen’s, so I’m grateful you sell it on-line. It’s sold at the same approximate price as I used to pay when buying it off the shelf. Shipping and handling do not “pump up” the price. I was a little leery about getting it shipped through the mail, thought the texture of the conditioner might be affected by heat of shipping. But its quality was fine. Thank you!

Small camera, big performance5
This past holiday week-end I made the decision not to take my Nikon DSLR with me on a 3 day road trip to Minneapolis. The majority of my time was spent wandering the Mall of America, and the E-P1 was an absolute delight the entire time.

This little camera makes me smile each time I use it!

If you don’t care to word a long, winding review let me summarize it. The E-P1 doesn’t have to make any apologies for being petite, its a full fledged camera on its own merit.

Positives
* Great photo quality!
* Built in image stabilization (works pretty well too)
* Customizable and responsive interface/buttons
* HD movie mode with autofocus
* Low profile, doesn’t get you noticed
* Quiet. I’d say quieter than my old rangefinders and way more quiet than my DSLR’s

Could be better
* Battery life
* Perhaps almost too customizable (pretty good learning curve). Keep the manual handy!

I’m not a people shooter and certainly not a “street” shooter but my week-end was spent at the Mall of America, which is enormous but all in doors. It was an interesting challenge. I found that although I fumbled with the interface and settings a bit, it became very engrossing and almost mesmerizing to shoot publicly with the E-P1. It never drew attention, not once, where as I saw people clearing out from the obvious DSLR guys like fish around a barracuda in the reef.

Lens: My only lens is the 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6, which doesn’t sound too exciting. However in practice it has been a great general utility lens that has rendered quite nicely, showing nice resolution and sharpness. I can only anticipate what the E-P1 will do with a quality, wide aperture prime. I’m up in the air about my next move, but the 50mm f/2 sure looks tempting. But then again it would be great to try OM mount too! Arg….

Auto-Focus: I’ve read some questions about the auto-focus performance of this camera, but in normal operation haven’t see an issue yet. Granted I haven’t tried to shoot a basketball game or dance recital yet so take this with a grain of salt. For my people shooting in the mall the AF performance has been wonderful and spot on. When I’ve gone to outdoor settings or even just trying to snap something quick from my car, I’ve found that the autofocus is quite a ways behind my D90. I think it is real world quick, but it is probably a step slower to focus than any DSLR on the market. Not saying that’s a bad thing, some worth knowing.

Sensor: The sharpness I see from this camera is well beyond what I expected, so there may be something to the talk that Olympus removed the strong anti-alias filtering most DSLR’s are plagued with. The jpg results thus far haven’t required any post process sharpening and the Olympus color engine is a breath of fresh air in my opinion.

Handling: Coming form a DSLR will make you take a little time to get used to the difference. Getting used to shooting with a LiveView display will also take some getting used to. There isn’t a front/rear two wheel control system as I’m used to with the D90, but there are two primary controls for manual shooting and they can both be worked while shooting one handed. Very nice design! The buttons and functions are all fully customizable but expect to be nestled up with the manual a wee bit to do it. All in all composing from the LiveView LCD became very natural and fluid after a day. High marks to Olympus in designing such a usable system. The only thing I still have to figure out is a button to disable auto-focus so I can go fully manual.

Results: The bottom line to any camera is what it can produce. The E-P1 is not a D700, A900 or 5DII. Those are different kinds of cameras that excel at higher ISO and extreme resolutions. What the E-P1 is to me is a system capable of going toe-to-toe with any DX sensor system on the market in terms of deliverable results. No it doesn’t shoot 8 frames per second. Again not that kind of camera.

This is a practical camera whose size and form factor make it usable in places that larger cameras wouldn’t work as well or possibly not at all. I’m seeing very detailed and sharp results up to ISO 1,250. After years of shooting 35mm, DSLR and even large format I’d have to say this is the most fun I’ve had with any camera I’ve owned. Its a camera guy’s camera that the beginner can use as well.

Great sensor, overall system needs work3
First a little background. I have a couple of other SLRs and was mainly looking for something to give me close to SLR quality files but in a considerably smaller physical package. A couple of downsides you should already be aware of from the product description.:

1. There is no pop-up flash. Not a problem for me, I don’t ever use them anyway (your mileage may vary).
2. There is no viewfinder. Again not a problem for me, got used to that very quickly.

Now some observations from having used the camera:

- The sensor image quality is excellent. Dynamic range is at SLR quality. Noise levels up to and including ISO 800 is very clean. ISO 1600 has a bit more noise than the Rebel XSI (also 12mp)with the noise increasing relative to competitors from there.
- The user interface is intuitive. I used mostly Aperture Priority and Manual and found it easy to use. Stuff in the menus were also easily found. Changing the settings were at times challenging (like ISO) because of the smaller buttons, but given the camera’s small size its something I could forgive
- Its heavy, almost as heavy as a basic, entry level DSLR. Now the lens is light as a feather, however I feel a lot of heaviness comes because of the build quality of the camera, which is superb
- The RAW processing software that comes with the camera is useless. The interface is horrible and the stability even worse. Wait for your favorite RAW processing software to add support and use that.

The deal breakers:

- The kit lens is slow. Really slow. So slow in fact that I found the system to not be very useful when the light levels got low or you were indoors. Now this could easily be fixed by having a series of fast pancake lenses, which I believe are coming, but sadly they aren’t here yet.
- The auto focus is slow and unreliable, especially indoors. I found the AF to be very slow and borderline frustrating. Again, this was mostly indoors and in low light levels, so a faster lens may alleviate the issue.

Overall, this is a fantastic start for Olympus and once the system is fleshed out a bit more (with lots of those fast pancake primes at various focal lengths) I may consider it again. However with the limited lens selection available today, its not for me. You need to figure out if you can live with the kit lens (or the 17mm f/2.8 prime) while waiting for more lenses to come out for yourself.

Exceptional out-of-the-box performance, great camera.5
I had been considering replacing my Leica d-lux 3 with the d-lux 4 when the EP-1 news came out. I immediately sold the d-lux 3 and ordered my EP-1. It is a little larger than I was hoping, but out of the box, the first results were incredible, RAW format on a par with my nikon d-90 RAW, requiring very little post-production. Feels good in the hand, responsive and fast auto-focus and much more satisfying to use than the leica – which I loved. Initial results in RAW much better than the leica, which was always just a little noisy.

This is a top notch camera, that I hope will continue to deliver results. The only current drawback for me is that photoshop CS4 doesn’t recognizethe Olympus Raw Format (ORF). I have to go through Olympus software to convert, which severely disrupts my work flow, and the software is slow and clunky. Shooting JPGs alongside Raw in case I need the results faster.

If they get the plugin updated soon, I’ll be over the moon.

Very happy with this purchase.

In 10 entertaining episodes, the team once again mix science and fun as they investigate the myth of “beer goggles” and whether drinking makes the opposite sex seem more attractive; the mysterious world of ninjas; the truth behind survival and what is actually bulletproof; and much more.

Mythbusters collection 55
This set includes the Alaska specials, Ninja special 2, exploding steak, blind driving, alcohol myths, end with a bang, coffcin punch, bananna slip, and motorcycle flip as usual great shows

Great show, but not many episodes4
I love Mythbusters and own every collection. However, this collection has the least amount of episodes out of all of them. You receive 2 discs that have 5 episodes on each disc–obviously only 10 episodes. Compared to previous collections, this is almost nothing. The first collection you received 4 discs–and almost double the amount of episodes than with collection 5. Each collection has fewer and fewer episodes, which is very disappointing. Great show and the episodes in collection 5 are classic–I just wish they put more episodes in the collection.

Customer Reviews:

Probably the most heart-breaking anime ever5
I have watched this anime along with Key’s other visual-novel-turned-anime’s such as AIR and Kanon. Contrary to a lot of people, I found AIR a lot more gut wrenching and tear jerking than Kanon could ever come across. However Kanon had a lot more character development and more interesting interactions between characters so it is good in its own right. I thought nothing could top AIR’s tragic but hearth-warming ending in terms of drama but I would have to go with the majority opinion. Clannad After Story not only improves on the dramatic qualities of AIR, but it also takes all the positive aspects from Kanon to make something that will touch the deepest depths of your heart and soul.

Now if you look on Anime News Network or other anime sites, you will notice that Clannad After Story ranks consistently very high on the charts. There is a good reason for this. I’m an adult male and I have to tell you that this anime had my tears drop off my face without me noticing many times, especially towards the latter half of this anime (which would be Clannad After Story collection 2 that comes out later this year). Then there are a couple of scenes which would make me cry uncontrollably – the background music used at these scenes alone are enough to make you feel like crying because the scenes come back in your mind. It is not that I’m particularly weak-minded, but this is not your average Japanese anime that only cares about dating and love between a couple. I’m sure a lot of people have seen such typical “romantic” anime and have gotten over that kind already. The thing that sets anime apart from them is that it touches upon the importance of having family and friends like no other anime or any other entertainment show, if I’m allowed to say so boldly.

As the reviewer before me said, watching Clannad before Clannad After Story is critical to understanding the characters and their intertwined story properly. I admit I was bored watching first half of Clannad but it was well worth in my opinion as an introduction to After Story. Clannad After Story is an extension of Nagisa’s arc and so it revolves around her and Tomoya mostly but all characters from Clannad make appearance in supporting role.

In these days the concept of family and value is lost to many individuals, as “too old fashioned”. I think this anime will help restore some of that in many people.

Audio – All around very good cast and BGM is excellent. Sometimes same score is recycled but in a different manner with different instrument and that changes a light-hearted happy song into one of the saddest songs in the anime.

Visual – Quality on par or better than Air / Kanon and that should be enough to give you an idea of how good it is.

Continuing greatness from Kyoto Animation5
This show is simply a masterpiece, in my opinion. Note that to get its full impact, watching the first season is a must. And it is unfortunate there is no English audio track. But besides that, I give this a whole-hearted recommendation. This first part of After Story reintroduces us to the characters, takes us through a few short mini-arcs, and then proceeds into the main portion of this season, which will continue on the next DVD release.

Clannad is perhaps the best show I’ve seen. It provides humor with engaging drama and romance, with content that is truly suitable for almost anyone. After Story elevates the series from ‘just’ a very good high-school anime to something superlative. You certainly may cry, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

wonderful5
the layout of the story is really good i really like the show and give it a full blown 5 starts. it is a really nice story. and i love the graphics as well. as soon as i saw the first episode i new i had to get the entire show even though it wasmn;t completely finished so if you want to see the last episodes you have to order it from japan and resd the subs. but other than that it is a superb show.

A good replacement for the OEM, especially after comparing the prices. I needed the smaller size and got used to it being not as quiet, but my cat will spill a glass of water on it soon enough and I will buy it again.

My only complaint was the missing wrist support part, wasn’t in box. I’ll expect it in the next 10 I order!

Beter than the original CHI5
I love my new CHI. The adjustable heat is wonderful. My hair is damaged and being able to turn down the heat as needed is great. Also love the auto off feature, no more worrying when I leave the house if I left my straightner on.

CHi TURBO5
This product is so amazing! I used to have a Paul Mitchell (until my sister broke it) and this one works wonders! My hair is never frizzy and it stays straight throughout the day. I work in a restaurant so I can sweat sometimes, but my hair still stays fabulous! The 2 Chi products it comes with are such a great deal! Those bottles separately cost over 20 dollars each! I totally recommend this product! The only bad thing about it is that the warranty doesn’t apply since it was purchased over the internet!

Best flat iron I have ever owned!5
I purchased this flat iron this week and received it yesterday. I have to say that I was a little nervous about spending this much money on a hair tool. Oh my goodness! It is AWESOME! It is so easy to use and made my hair smooth and shiny. I color my hair and have experienced some damage as a result. The last thing I needed was more damage from heat. No worries about that with this iron. I look forward to using this flat iron on a daily basis. If you are looking for a good flat iron but are worried about shelling out the money, buy this one. It is well worth it!

The Phantom Killer falls short. . Unfortunately 8 minutes of this Feature is missing the begining .
Note: Mantan Moreland was key in those 8 minutes before the feature story picks up.
These 8 minutes is very essential to to the rest of the Phantom Mystery.
I was very disappointed.

After watching, you can determine as to what is taking place.

The two other Features were good.

Customer Reviews:

Don’t cha wish you saved your $8?2
It’s Monday, January 4th. First day back at work. All day long I am mentally psyching myself up to workout because, let’s face it, if I loved working out I wouldn’t resort to buying a Pussycat Dolls (PCD) Workout DVD at 1:38 am in the morning on Amazon.com. I would be asleep and wake up to take a nice walk. But no. I hate exercise, but love dancing.

It’s 5 pm, I drive home, change into workout clothes, take the dog outside, and I put the DVD in.

The cheesy music starts and they show close-ups of the PCD girls and they’re all sex-ified. Lovely. This DVD is made for 14 year old boys. I am kind of standing there waiting for the darn intro to finish. Robin Antin is apparently the “creator” (or pimp, your call) of the PCD group and she’s going on and on about how great this video is. If you do it daily, you’ll look like them in no time!
During this intro all I can think about is 1 thing:

This was probably a waste of $8.

But, I am still optimistic, and I even have a water bottle nearby because clearly to look like them, you gotta work out HARD. Sweat, get sore, be outta breath.

The first part of the workout (a term they use loosely, you’ll see why) is set to their popular song “Don’t Cha”.

It starts off, and Robin is the one giving the instructions and it’s easy. If you can walk forward 3 steps and place your hand on your hips on step 4, you’ve got 1/4 of the darn routine down. If you can do so while trying to act sexy, you’ve got another 1/4 of it down.

I’m doing it, and I keep thinking to myself that I am not remotely sweaty. Not even out of breath. I look at my dog and he’s doing the routine because it’s that easy.

At this point I also realize that none of the girls look familiar and this is because it’s the PCD from the burlesque show and not PCD the um “singing” group (wink, wink). But this doesn’t bother me any, because they all look the same to me. Nicole, the lead “singer”, does come out during the 3rd routine to the song “Buttons” if that matters to you or your husband.

It takes about 15 minutes for Robin to teach you the routine, and during these 15 minutes she also mentions a bajillion times that once you do this DVD you’ll really start to see results and get better at the dances. Really? Seriously? If you did this DVD everyday you’d be BORED TO TEARS like another reviewer said. Finally, it’s time for you to perform the routine from start to finish. How long is the routine? Oh, roughly 30 seconds long. I’ll even summarize it for you:

Bow chicka bow wow.

Walk 3 steps, place hands on hips on 4. Shake your hips while doing so. Leave lips slightly open to look sexy.

Do a casual wave of the arm while “hot like me” is playing.

Bend down to the left and right, run your hands up your thighs, slap your butt cheeks once on each side. (yes, butt cheeks- make sure you slap both- no cheating! This is EXERCISE!)

Bend down again and on random beats pop your chest out- this will happen 3 times. Pop what your momma gave ya.

Do some random kickboxing like moves. If it helps, pretend your kicking your PCD DVD into the trash. It helps.

What to do now? The girls on the DVD are practicing their pole moves, I guess I’ll do that.

Oh wait, here we go AGAIN.

Walk 3 steps, place hands on hips on 4. Shake your hips while doing so. Leave lips slightly open to look sexy.

Do a casual wave of the arm while “hot like me” is playing.

I think you get the point. You do the “routine” about 5+ times during the song and in between each set you just freestyle some stripper moves hoping your husband/boyfriend/child doesn’t walk into the door to see you swinging your hair around while you’re in sweatpants.

Not being too impressed with the first routine, I did decide to move onto the next routine. Maybe they get progressively harder, I thought to myself.

Up next, burlesque. More stripper moves.

Robin starts off the segment by telling you to get a boa or a men’s tie. I don’t have a boa, and my hubby does have a lot of ties, but they’re zipper ties. Not gonna work. I finally found a suitable replacement…a pashmina.

The beautiful, magenta pashmina given to me by a friend/co-worker for Christmas. It is gorgeous.

The burlesque routine starts off and you hold the boa/pashmina over your head and move your hips from side-to-side. Then, you turn to the right and rub the pashmina over your chest and lift your leg up and rub it on your leg, too. Alright. You’re supposed to do all that in like 3 seconds. FAST. They look all hot doing it, and I almost broke the coffee table trying to do it fast and getting my foot caught in the pashmina.

And this next move nearly caused a HUGE problem.

You take the boa (or my pashmina, which is considerably larger/heavier than a boa) and you swing it to the left and right. It basically slaps down onto the floor and you snap it back up and repeat on the opposite side. I did this forgetting that there is an obstacle to all this.

It’s called a ceiling fan. The noise and movement my ceiling fan made when I whipped my pashmina up into it nearly made me shart myself. But after I consoled my dog, I went back to the routine. I decided to just not do the whipping/swinging of the pashmina, and I’d be good, right?

Negative.

After you rub the boa against your girls, your legs, whip it left and right without killing yourself or your animals, you’re supposed to turn to the left, slap the boa onto the floor so that it GOES BETWEEN YOUR LEGS and you grab it with one hand behind/near your butt so you can like rub it between your crotch and look all silly and sexy.

I watched the PCD do this, and I looked at my pashmina, and I want to say I called it quits.

But I didn’t.

I tried it once. JUST ONCE.

Okay, twice.

And I couldn’t grab it behind my butt fast enough because I am like, ya know, FAT. And my butt is FAT, too. And so are my arms. Ugh.

I whipped my pashmina onto the floor so that it went between my legs and it was just ewww. No way I was going to rub my pashmina into my nether regions like I am trying to hump it or something.

IT IS A PASHMINA.

The third routine is set to their song “Buttons” but the only button I pushed was stop on the DVD player. I have tried a ton of workout DVDs, and I have to say this was the most awful one. It’s not hard, you could cause bodily harm to humans/animals, and it’s a waste of $8. Well, more if you don’t have a boa and have to buy one.

Bottom line, don’t buy it.

Bottom line #2, don’t look at me funny when you see me wear my magenta pashmina.

Unleash your inner Pussycat Doll~3
So, this workout was fun and sexy so I gave it three stars; however, there were many drawbacks that prevent this from being a truly awesome workout. I’ll tell you some details of the workout and then explain what I saw as deficiencies.

Pussycat Dolls (PCD) Workout DVD is led by Robin Antin, the creator of the group. She is joined by Christina from the group, Girlicious, and 3 ladies from her burlesque show in Vegas. Nicole Scherzinger only shows up in the performance section of the Buttons routine. All of the participants look fabulous and if their physiques don’t inspire you to exercise- nothing will. They are trying a bit too hard to be sexy-but what do you expect from PCD.

The workout is split into 3 different 30-second dance routines: Don’t Cha, Burlesque and Buttons. Robin takes about 10-15 minutes to teach you each routine, and then there are 3-4 minute performances of each routine. During the performance sections you perform the short routines multiple times with some freestyle dancing in between.

Robin is used to teaching seasoned dancers and it shows- she does not break down moves that other instructors would. However, she performs each move multiple times so that you would have no problem learning it. The dances are not taken strictly from the PCD routines, but are modified so that most people would be able to pick them up quickly. A word of warning- this routine may not be appropriate to perform around children (ie, this is the only workout my boyfriend can’t wait for me to do). The women are very scantily clad and you will frequently be asked to grind it, pop it and slap your booty- among other maneuvers. The only equipment required to perform the routine is a feather boa, scarf or necktie for the Burlesque section.

Cons: The routines are very short at 30 seconds each, and not so difficult that you couldn’t learn them on the first try. This means that you could easily grow bored with this workout. Also it is annoying that Robin frequently repeats, “You should do this workout everyday” (if you did you would be bored to tears) or “We do this move in PCD all the time” (marketing- much?). Most importantly, if you are anything but a very beginner at exercise-the DVD will be too easy for you. I think that Robin should make the routines longer so that you get a better workout and stop trying to ride the PCD train for everything it’s worth.

a little cheesy but still fun!4
This was kinda of an impulse buy. I was looking for something that would help provide a good cardio workout at home for when I am too lazy to drive to the gym. I am a big fan of workout dvds and am relatively picky with what I put in my collection. I do like this dvd, but I have to say right at the start that it is a little cheesy. I get really annoyed by things like that but it wasn’t in excess so I got over it. I bought this at the same time as Julianne Hough’s new dvd, and while she is a much better instructor, Robin Antin does a pretty good job too. She isn’t as sweet as Julianne, but she does repeat the moves she teaches you enough times that you can pick it up pretty quickly and I have no prior dance experience at ALL! The breakdown of the moves is pretty good too, she doesn’t throw so many new things into each set that you forget what moves your doing. I think the reason why you get some cardio from this is because you are repeating the same sets of moves over and over again, with a short break inbetween. While this is great for practicing getting the moves down and mastering those, it could also get VERY repetative if this was in your dvd rotation more then a couple time a week. Robin says ‘you should do this everyday’ to some of the moves and while that may be true, it would get really boring to do so. I do like that in some places there is at least one girl in the background doing a slight modification and I find that nice when I either don’t know what I am doing or am too lazy to go all out on a workout. I don’t think I will use this as much as Julianne’s but it is still a good way to get a workout done at home. There are 3 dance routines on this dvd and a behind the scenes featurette.

Customer Reviews:

Initial impression4
This is an initial review of this product. The features that attracted me to it are 4GB RAM, a 320GB HDD, its lightweight (5.3 lb), and a 15.6 in. screen. The external brushed aluminum finish on this machine gives it a classy, upscale look. I was somewhat leery about the glossy screen but after using it I found its level of reflectivity to be acceptable…of course that could be different for other users. I believe what helps with this Acer unit is that the screen’s bezel is matte finished which tones down the overall mirror effect. In addition the brushed aluminum finish of the keyboard surround also helps. While on the subject of the keyboard I have two negatives: the keys are glossy and very “slippery” and they are very flat. These two attributes make typing a bit difficult. After several hours, however, I had less difficulty with it and mistyping. If the keys were “cupped” I think that their “slipperiness” would be less noticeable.

The LED backlit LCD screen is very crisp and bright which gives it a visual “snappiness” that I like. Even with the power-saving features enabled the screen clarity is excellent. My unit arrived with no dead pixels.

I’m not much of a touch pad fan but I found this one to be an improvement over others I’ve used. It requires a very light touch and the multi-gesture feature seems to work reasonably well. (I still prefer using a mouse.)

Several CD’s were played to test the speakers. While they weren’t of “boom box” quality they did provide a sense of surround sound. Given their physical size, I felt their output was of acceptable quality. I’ve read reviews which criticized the low volume produced even when controls were set at 100%. Granted, you won’t get rock concert volume, but the sound was pleasant.

Overall, at this point, I’m pleased with my purchase. As time permits, I’ll update this review.

Had problems3
I like it but had problems setting it up. It gave the blue scrren of death on me a few times befor it got it to wrok right. It has been ok after getting updates for Windows 7. Unlike what a another person wrote it comes with dvd/cd burning software and a nice selection of pre-installed software. But if the blue screen happens again I will return it for a replacement.
